MITCHELL COUNTY STRONG.

Mitchell County Strong started as a collaboration between the Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce, Solomon Valley Community Foundation, and Solomon Valley Economic Development as a way to support local businesses, non-profits, and residents of Mitchell County during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started with a Buy 1, Give 1 program soon expanded to a Disaster Relief Fund, Hungry Hungry Heros program, and an MCS Online Auction. 

Mitchell County Strong has since become a platform that will continue working to benefit, promote, and support the communities of Mitchell County. We are #MitchellCountyStrong

Position Overview -

The Executive Director, of the Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce, is responsible for leading the organization’s mission to enhance the quality of life and economic prosperity in the Mitchell County area. This role involves member engagement, strategic planning, community outreach, and operational management to support and promote local businesses and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities - 

Member Communications:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Chamber’s mission and objectives, fostering business growth and community development.

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to prioritize the Chamber Members goals

New Membership Development:

  • Create and execute membership marketing plans to attract new members, retain existing ones, and increase member engagement.

  • Oversee the development of membership materials and communications to highlight the benefits of Chamber involvement.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Oversee the Chamber’s marketing and communication strategies, including the management of social media presence, website content, and public relations efforts.

  • Develop printed marketing materials, such as membership flyers and community guides, to promote the Chamber and its members.

Community Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between the Chamber, local businesses, government entities, and community organizations to promote collaborative initiatives.

  • Represent the Chamber at community events, public meetings, and other forums to advocate for member interests and community well-being.

Event Planning & Management:

  • Plan, organize, and execute Chamber-sponsored events, including networking opportunities, educational workshops, and community gatherings.

  • Ensure events align with member needs and the Chamber’s strategic objectives.

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage the Chamber’s budget, ensuring financial stability and resource allocation aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Oversee fundraising efforts, including sponsorships and grant applications, to support Chamber activities.

 

 

Qualifications - 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience in social media marketing, public relations, or a related field

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

  • Experience in strategic planning, financial management, and fundraising.

  • Proficiency in using technology and social media platforms for marketing and communication purposes.

 

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in social media marketing, website maintenance, and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with the Mitchell County area and its business community.

  • Experience in event planning and execution.

  • Experience in Business Administration

  • Proven strategic leadership experience.

 

About the Mitchell County Area Chamber of Commerce

 

The Beloit Area Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit, membership-based organization dedicated to supporting and promoting local businesses and enhancing the overall quality of life in the Mitchell County area.

 

The Chamber is currently dedicated to reviving our member benefits and how we act as a Chamber. Interested parties need to be open minded and willing to work with moving parts! Our IDEAL candidate is passionate and energetic about growth opportunities.

CURRENT DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8 weekly scheduled hours of in-office time

  • Maintain consistent member communications weekly with progress reports to board members

  • Intention to visit with ALL Chamber members quarterly

  • Set visitation with all Mitchell County towns

  • Planning and execution of currently prioritized Chamber events with option to expand events offered in the future
